MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING (MRI)
LOOKING UNDER THE SURFACE
An MRI can give your doctor more information to help diagnose you, especially if you have negative or inconclusive blood work. Magnetic resonance imaging can detect erosion from arthritis two years before it can be seen by x-ray imaging. If an MRI shows damage, this can assist you and your doctor in deciding your best course of treatment for your rheumatic disease.
If you are in need of an MRI, you will love our peripheral MRI machine. When you have your MRI performed at FBRA, you can rest comfortably next to the machine rather than lying inside of it. We feel confident that even our claustrophobic patients will feel completely at ease with us. Our machine is ideal for patients whose physicians have ordered MRIs of the hands, elbows, shoulders, feet, ankles, and knees.
